You know when you have one of those weeks where all the days are jumbled and you just can’t get a grip on your schedule? Yeah…every week in September has seriously been like that for me. So much so that this post for fall burlap baskets almost didn’t happen {it is happening late but at least happening}. I had bought all of the supplies but just couldn’t find the time to sit down and work on them…much less photograph them! Thankfully, I snagged a few hours to work on some projects this past weekend and the baskets came together.
Don’t let my lack of time fool you though. These baskets are super simple to put together and can really be customized to match any decor.
I started with my colored burlap. It was too wide for my basket so just folded it in half and glued the edges together. You could just as easily cut it but I can barely cut a straight line on lined paper so I knew burlap would be beyond my cutting skills. Once you have the burlap to the width you want, simple wrap it around the basket and secure it. I used hot glue for mine.
For the leaves, I used the sample template as I did for my fall felt leaf wreath. I simply traced the leaves onto the felt and then cut them out.
I glued the leaves together before attaching them to the front of my basket.
With the burlap and leaves done, it was time to fill my baskets with the styrofoam veggies. I turned one of my plastic berry containers upside down and put it in the bottom of the basket to take up space that you don’t see from the outside. This allows me to use less veggies but still have the basket look nice and full.
Then, I just haphazardly threw vegetables into the basket and rearranged until I thought it looked nice and full.
I repeated the same process for my second basket so I would have two for my front porch. Of course, you only see one here on the table. I haven’t moved them outside yet because I am waiting for September 22nd 🙂
Have you been doing any fall decorating yet? Is your September as crazy as mine seems to be?

Cute and a great idea to use something else to fill up space under your styrofoam gourds! Thankfully the weather feels more fall-like, but I haven’t done much decorating yet either!
