Because of the short time period between Halloween and Thanksgiving, I often find it difficult to squeeze in all the of the fun decorations and crafts that I would like to get done. I mean…this list of 25 great Thanksgiving ideas would never fit into my schedule between the two holidays. So, I turned to more simple craft and decorating ideas like this easy scrapbook paper turkey art. This guy started with a simple mdf shape from Hobby Lobby and some scrapbook paper. I had originally planned to paint the shape but decided to just cover it in scrapbook paper instead.
I took the solid brown paper and cut it out to match the mdf shape. Then, I used mod podge to attach it to the shape. You can see where it is a little wrinkly and rough and I did that on purpose because I wanted it to look a little worn.
While the brown paper dried, I cut out a turkey shape using my Silhouette Cameo in a different scrapbook paper. A quick swipe of glue and my turkey art was ready.
I think it is pretty funny that the turkey is made of paper listing all of the yummy foods we traditionally eat at Thanksgiving.
He made a nice little addition to our fall mantel. Plus, with only about 10 minutes to complete the project, I could work on squeezing in another Thanksgiving craft.Have you been working on any Thanksgiving crafts recently?

Yes! I could actually do this! I own a Silhouette Cameo {err, still in its original packaging and shipping box}-but this kind of project is so me! Little time to create, few supplies- perfect!

I love this project! At first look I had no idea that your background shape had scrapbook paper on it–it looked stained! I won a Silhouette and should be receiving it soon, so I’m excited to see the different ways people use them!
Thanks for linking up with Twirl & Take a Bow! Look forward to seeing what you link up this week!
