So, Halloween is this week. Eek! Are you like me and still planning out all the details of the day/night? We have our costumes but our annual pre-trick or treat dinner is still really up in the air. We invite a bunch of friends, with their kids, over to enjoy dinner before we go raid the neighborhood collecting candy. I love it but I am seriously stressed this year because my menu hasn’t fully taken shape. Thankfully, I have a few Halloween party food go tos I can rely on like monster cookie dip.
This dip starts out like a cookie dough dip {inspired by this one} but then gets all kinds of yummy additions added into to make it extra yummy and perfect for Halloween!
Monster Cookie Dip Ingredients:
½ cup unsalted butter
⅓ cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/4 cup mini M&Ms
1/2 cup candy monster eyes
Crackers for serving
Let’s Make It:
1) Add the butter and brown sugar to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let stand until room temperature.
2) Beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Slowly add in the cooled butter mixture letting each addition fully incorporate before adding more. Let the mixer run for about 1 minutes. Fold in the mini chocolate chips, mini M&Ms and 1/2 of the candy monster eyes. Transfer to bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Before serving, add remaining monster eyes to the top of the dip.
I plan to serve this dip on Friday with a side of Wheat Thins Original Flavor and Halloween Oreos. Um, Oreos dipped in cookie dip is hands down amazing. Seriously…try it and you can thank me later.
