But, eating ham sandwiches or ham on its own can get a little boring so, instead, turn that leftover ham into an amazingly delicious Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole!
This broccoli and cheese casserole is inspired by my all time favorite side dish: scalloped potatoes. I mix in sweet potatoes, fresh broccoli and Smithfield Signature Spiral Sliced Ham leftovers to turn a yummy side dish into a filling leftover ham recipe.
I guarantee everyone will be asking for a second helping once they get a taste of this deliciously easy broccoli casserole. They may even ask you to go buy another Smithfield Signature Spiral Sliced Ham so you’ll have more leftovers to make casseroles with.
A Smithfield Signature Sprial Sliced Ham is so easy to prepare and makes the perfect holiday meal centerpiece. Just heat at 275 degrees for 10-15 minutes per pound and then brush on the delicious glaze.

- 9×13 Baking dish
- Foil

- 2 Russet Potatoes thinly sliced
- 2 Sweet Potatoes thinly sliced
- 3 cups Smithfield Signature Spiral Sliced Ham sliced
- 1.5 cups Broccoli Florets
- 1 cup Swiss Cheese shredded
- 1.5 cups Pepper Jack Cheese shredded
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 Onion thinly sliced
- 3 cups Heavy Cream
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 3 Bay Leaves

In a medium saucepan, combine onion, heavy cream, garlic and bay leaves over medium-low heat. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.

Spread a very thin layer of spiced cream in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Alternating between russet and sweet potatoes, make a layer of potatoes on top of cream. Sprinkle with broccoli florets and ham.

Top with one cup of cheese and season with salt and pepper. Repeat with 2 more layers of potatoes, broccoli and ham.

Pour spiced cream over top of casserole and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover with foil and bake for one hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
