“Hello Just Us Four fans. I am Eva Stephen; today’s guest at Just Us Four. So kind of Shannah who lent me space on her wonderful blog. The bright sunlight, refreshing colored flowers everywhere, and birds’ chirp has already announced the arrival of spring and Easter being the first celebration of summer provokes us to just get out of the blankets, greet Spring and have some fun. I wish you all a very happy and revitalizing Spring.”
Regardless of the fact that it happens every year, I still expect each spring with immense delight and impatience, because it never fails to dispel the winter’s blues and bring happiness to my home.
Now, my home is pretty happy as it is, so you can imagine what happens in spring. Just like my heart is bursting with bubbles of joy, my home bursting with colour, cheerful details and fresh, newly bought furniture; sometimes something very small, sometimes huge – like a TV set – depending on my budget at the time. Did you check the new furniture collection at Shop4furniture.net? If not, just do it. It is something not to be missed to welcome
Spring and Summer with zeal.
I love to adorn my home with flowers and refreshing colours and I’m all set for the rebirth of nature and life.
How to make spring cleaning fun
No spring and Easter celebration can be fun in an untidy home. So, the first step to enlivening your home and preparing it for the upcoming festivities is to do a general spring house cleaning. That means scrubbing those floors, washing those windows, really vacuuming (leaving out corners that are difficult to reach is not an option. Some tips to make your work easier.), dusting and de-cluttering. Don’t think this can be done in one day. Be patient, give yourself a few days to do this very demanding task and preferably find a few more enthusiasts to help you out. Word of caution: cleaning is very boring without some fun, uplifting music to back you up.
Activities that make Easter fun
Now that your home is shining from all the fantastic washing and cleaning, you are ready to move on to fun activities:
• Adorn your home with stylish decorative elements.
• Spend time with family creating Easter crafts.
• Think of fun new ways to set a table for a family spring reunion.
In order to awe your guests/family when they come to Easter lunch, you can find some unique candle holders, vases, table cloths, sculptures, etc. to freshen up your dining room. I love uncommon goods for fun home accessories. Be creative, mix and match old and new styles, add a humorous details (like a chocolate bunny in a visible place) to the otherwise classy and impeccable table decoration.
Unique DIY decoration
Let children help you create crepe paper bunnies, animal-like Easter eggs or adorable eggshell vases.
Making eggshell vases is very simple, but it is such an effective decoration. All you need to do is break one top of the eggshell, carefully empty the egg’s content, wash the inside and place it in an eggcup. Fill it with water and then with pretty (short-stemmed) flowers. If you want your vases to be even more attention-grabbing, paint them any bright colour: pink, green, turquoise, yellow…
If these vases are too subtle for your taste, you can have a creative workshop with family or friends where you’ll repaint big, ceramic or clay vases and turn them into real piece of art.
Choosing motifs is the easiest thing during Easter because so many fun and pretty things inspire us: bunnies, flowers, butterflies, fresh produce, the sun, smiling faces, etc.
Have guests over for egg hunting
After your home got that spring look, help your family hide all the Easter eggs and wait for guests to arrive. When you’re done enjoying their positive reactions to your nicely decorated home, you can finally move on to one of the most enjoyable parts of any celebration – eating.
