Egg-i-licious Wreath for Easter

My wreath obsession is no secret around here.  I can point you to several examples {like here, here, and here} where I have made multiple wreaths in a short time period.  Mathlete actually complains that he always comes home to a new wreath.  This one last went up yesterday after our St. Patrick’s Day wreath came down and I actually plan to leave it up for a few weeks until Easter comes.  {Shocker, I know}
Take a look at my wreath for Easter:

Think the Easter bunny will stop at our house with those welcoming eggs on the door?  I certainly hope so.
Let’s talk about the wreath making though because that is the fun part!
Obviously, this wreath wasn’t my standard wrap with yarn and go.  I picked up this backless picture frame from Michaels one day when they were having a big sale.  I removed all of the little hangers from the back to make sure they wouldn’t scratch my door.

Next, I grabbed some ribbon and started wrapping it on the four sides.

It was all going great until this

I finally got that untangled and went back to wrapping.

Once the sides were all wrapped, I had to figure out exactly how I wanted my eggs to be attached.

My first thought was to hang them down in the middle but I only had two eggs.  Mathlete has a the mind of a 13 year old boy sometimes so I knew two eggs would illicit lots of jokes.  Plan B.
I took some ribbon and hot glued to the back of the frame in a zig zag.

Then, I attached the eggs to the ribbon.

Wreath complete!

      Thanks! I had fun with this wreath because it was really outside of the “round wreath” norm.
