We started the Pinworthy Projects Party for 2013 with a bang! Two new co-hosts and over a hundred link ups. I am so excited to see what future parties (like the one tomorrow) bring!
Right now, let’s take a look at some of the features from last week’s party:
– Kathe with an E shared her gorgeous winter buffet cabinet. I just love the peacock pattern in the lining of the cabinet.
– How cute is that snowman made from bath poufs from The Crafty Journal? My daughter would absolutely adore that!
– I’m a huge fan of homemade biscuits (seriously, who isn’t?!) and so I am pretty sure I could devour several of the cinnamon raisin biscuits from Semi-Homemade Mom.

I hope the new year is off to a great start for you all. Here’s a peak at how we are starting 2013.
Sunday – family dinner night is even more special on Sundays, and I LOVE trying new things like this Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Asparagus. It was a HUGE hit!
Monday – and we’re off to another busy week. Slow cooker meals like this Balsamic Pork are perfect for busy weeknights.
Tuesday – has always been Taco Tuesday. My kids simply will not have it any other way. We like to mix-it -up a bit with these baked taquitos.
Wednesday – trying to lighten things up – we LOVE pasta, but these zucchini noodles make a healthy {and delicious} alternative.
Thursday – Quick meals don;t have to taste like quick meals. This cordon bleu is SO easy, and you would never know it.
Friday is pizza night!
Saturday – the weekend at last. Time to celebrate with lasagna roll-ups
.Have a great week:)
~Heather

Thanks Heather! Those all look so delicious…my mouth is watering just thinking about them. I’m definitely loving the idea of the balsamic pork!
Resolutions…they are tricky things. We start out with grand plans for the start of the new year.
Better our health: Lose 50 lbs, go to the gym every day for at least an hour, etc.
Save money: Spend less. Don’t eat out and save the money instead.
Then, reality hits. You realize that there aren’t enough hours in the day for that gym visit every day. Or maybe you are totally addicted to that daily coffee you get from the nearby coffee house.
I hear you. I am a coffee addict. Every morning, I stop at the same place and order the same coffee drink…to the tune of $4.67/drink. Let’s think about how far I could get towards that saving money goal if I skipped that 5 days of week…I will save you the click to your calculator: It is over $1,000!
But, I can’t skip my coffee. Thanks to International Delight Light Iced Coffee I can get the best of both worlds…smaller waistline and bigger bank account.

Construction of our basement quietly finished up right before Christmas. There is a still a TON of decorating and detail stuff to do but the basement is finished and open for play time.
Want a quick tour?
First, let’s take a look at what the plan for the basement was:
And here is where we started:
…
I hope the first week of 2013 treated everyone well! I struggled a little to get back into the regular swing of things but am slowly falling back in my normal rhythm.
2012 was a great year for this little ole blog! I owe all of the blog’s success to YOU, my dear readers. Without you, there would be no blog and I’d just be that weird girl who talks to herself. So, a big THANK YOU for coming here to read what I have to say and being so supportive 🙂
Also helping Just Us Four thrive during 2012 {and now in 2013} were some pretty awesome sponsors. I know lots of people have mixed feelings about sponsors for blogs but my sponsors help me bring you more content and giveaways so I think they are pretty darn great. 🙂
Let’s take a look at a few of this month’s sponsors:
ModCloth
ModCloth is one of my newest sponsors and I am so excited to have them onboard. I got a yellow infinity scarf from there recently that I am in total love with. Seriously…the Mathlete had to ask me to stop wearing it because I wore for it at least 5 days straight. Seriously cute stuff over there so be sure to check it out!
Stella & Dot
Another favorite of mine that has been a sponsor for awhile is Stella & Dot. They have so many great pieces at really great prices.
A good friend of mine recently became a stylist for them and she is LOVING it! If you are interested in earning some extra money or maybe starting your own business, I highly recommend you check them out! During January, Stella & Dot Stylists who sign up will receive an extra $100 in product credit for a fabulous start to launching their business.
One Kings Lane
Now that the basement construction is complete, my work has begun with decorating it! One Kings Lane is a daily must visit site for me because they offer some awesome finds at great prices. I love going on to see the newest sales and see what I can find to help put the finishing touches on our newest space.
Pick Your Plum
Crafting is a serious hobby around the Just Us Four house these days. Without Pick Your Plum, I think my crafting habit would totally break the bank. Thankfully, I can get some cute {and super helpful} craft supplies at crazy prices just by checking in to see the deal each day.
YOU can see the new deal available each day right there in my sidebar!
Social Spark
Social Spark is a great source for connecting bloggers with advertisers. You get leads from interested advertisers and then work through the Social Spark network to set a price for posts and develop content.
If you are interested joining this growing list by sponsoring Just Us Four, please contact me at justusfourpartners {at} gmail {dot} com.
Several advertising options, as well as blog button swapping, are available.
Remember our Ikea kitchen cabinets for the basement bar?
Well, they have been installed for quite some time but missing a key piece to make them complete. Just like Beyonce, they needed a little sparkle to know we loved them. So, I put Mathlete to work putting the handles on them.
We started by putting painters tape on each one.
Then, using his ruler, Mathlete created the center point.

My friend, Megan, over at The McBailey’s posted about the Pay It Forward Challenge she is doing for 2013. I LOVE this idea and wanted to participate.
Here’s how it works:
{most of this text borrowed from The McBailey’s}:
The first 5 people to comment below will receive, from Just Us Four, something in 2013. It may be handmade, or a book, something sparkly, a SURPRISE! I won’t tell you when you’re getting it, I will just send it when the spirit moves me!
There is, of course, a catch. Those 5 people must make the same offer on their blog. If you don’t make the offer, I can’t send you anything…that’s so sad because I want to send you something. So make sure you do and let’s get this challenge rolling.
So grab the button, share it on your blog, and then leave me a comment with a link to YOUR blog post. Make 2013 a year of giving and bring a little bit of sunshine to someone’s day.
Please note, if you do join the challenge, make sure you give me your email address so I can get your mailing address and send ya something.
