Happy Friday! I hope you are having a great week. It certainly feels like August is flying by. Today, we celebrate my son’s birthday. Tomorrow, we have both birthday parties for my kids. It is always a busy weekend but so much fun. What have you been up to this August?

I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that school starts in just a few short weeks. I’ve been working my way through the school supply list which has me running all over town getting the exact right items from the list. Birthday party season is here which means tons of sweets and little treats for our household. My kids recently discovered Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles and they want to eat the cereal all times of the day. Even though Fruity Pebbles cereal has been around since 1970, the marshmallow version is new and quickly becoming popular. My kids love it so I decided to make a yummy treat for them using the cereal. It is still so hot outside though so I didn’t want to turn on the oven. Instead, I made no bake cheesecake bars.

Summer vegetables are some of my absolute favorites. From zucchini to corn, you can’t beat the summer vegetables that show up at the farmer’s market or in the store. I was getting ready for our block party over the weekend and the hardest decision I was deciding what to make because all the vegetables just looked so good. Happy Friday! I am back from my trip to CA and slowly shaking off the jet lag. Every extra yawn was totally worth it though. Our pre-conference vacation was heavenly and then words cannot explain how fun the International Food Bloggers Conference was. So much delicious food, tasty wine and lots of great food bloggers to meet and chat with. I look forward to going again next year.

One of our favorite things to do when we have a small group of friends over is have a make your own pizza night. We’ve done homemade pizza crust and some pre-made pizza crust as well. Recently, I’ve gotten into using naan or flatbread for pizza crusts and it is just so easy. Last time, I made a fajita ranch pizza that may be new favorite.
