So this month has totally been a blur with back to school, lots of work stuff and {the most exciting thing} my trip to New York to learn all about Miele. Before we get too far into this post, I do want to say a big “thank you” to you guys! It is because of my awesome readers that I am able to participate in experiences like the one I’m about to share with you. So…again, THANK YOU!
My trip started off with a train ride which I love because I get to do work since the train to NY has wi-fi. It also makes instagramming up a storm super easy {be sure you follow me to see other pictures!}. Upon arrival to our hotel, I got to meet some seriously fabulous ladies that were part of the #PureAirBlog team.

We had the most delicious farm to fork meal at Eno Terra and really got the conversations started. Being from all different parts of the country, we had so much to talk about.
The next morning, we started our day with the most delicious latte and breakfast.
Holly, from the Miele kitchen, made us a fritatta in their innovative steam oven. I was texting in between bites telling my husband how I had to have one of those ovens. It is impossible to burn food in it and don’t generate heat into your room…sold!
The rest of our day was spent touring the Miele headquarters and learning all about their floorcare line. With two very busy kids, you can imagine how much care my floors really need. E is constantly dropping cheerios which I, then, step on and grind into the carpet before I realize it. Plus, all of our family has mild to moderate allergies so keeping dust to a minimum is required for a pleasant house and low Claritin bill.
We have a vacuum but I am not thrilled with it. I find I get things dirtier when I try to empty the thing than when I started. Miele vacuums come with a self closing bag that traps everything inside…even when you go to remove it from the vacuum to throw it away.
I was definitely eyeballing this guy during our training
Our afternoon was spent touring Princeton with the best tour guide I have ever met: Mimi! She goes way beyond the traditional “this building was built in x” and gives you a lot of backstory and history about the area and people.
If only I had $4.5M+ so I could move to this gorgeous house!
We closed our evening back at Miele where we joined some Miele kitchen owners in a pizza making class. We paired up, trying to include the people that weren’t part of our group, and made some yummy pizzas. We also got a visit from Nick Ord, President and CEO of Miele, Princeton. He was so nice and wonderful to talk to.
The next day was a learning experience on a different level. We visited Good Housekeeping for a delicious brunch in their dining room.
Then, we toured the Good Housekeeping Research Institute where they test every product that goes into the magazine…even if it is just for an advertisement. That works out to be over 1,000 products each year! I had no idea that a company couldn’t even advertise in the magazine if they hadn’t earned the Good Housekeeping seal through rigorous testing.
Of course, the Miele vacuum has been awarded the seal and is shown in the Good Housekeeping testing facility.
We closed our trip with some free time in my favorite city: Manhattan. I walked around Times Square with Rachel from Mom Colored Glasses and Amy from Atta Girl Says.
We did a little shopping too before it was time to board our respective trains. My feet have never been so tired!
While I was away, the Mathlete and the kids spent some time getting our floors nice and messy so I will be even more excited to use my new Miele vaccum.
Have you spent any time in NYC recently? Are you an avid reader of Good Housekeeping? Have you ever heard of Miele before?
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

The trip was so much fun. I feel so extremely blessed that I got to go.
I know…right? Mine is sitting at home in the box just waiting for me to start vacuuming everything!

What fun! I could definitely use an oven that makes it impossible to burn food. The house we bought, came with an ancient oven that chooses its own temperature no matter what you set it at. I’d be thrilled to not worry about burning dinner!

I know, right?! Even as someone who loves to cook, there is definitely something alluring about a foolproof oven.

I have a bit of a vacuum obsession. I still haven’t found an upright that works great on hard floors. Might have to check Miele out.

Oh, definitely check out the Miele! We went through a whole quiz to determine which one would be best for me. I have hardwoods and got an upright!

Haha. Fortunately, I make it to NY at least 2-3 times per year so the vacuum is probably a rarer occurence 🙂 It is an amazing vaccuum too. I will be sharing more about it over the coming months 🙂
