Sometimes, the simplest recipes are the best. I love creating recipes that are easy to make but taste delicious. This is especially true when Halloween or Christmas comes around and I want to be able to give treats to neighbors and visitors. One of our favorite things to make any time of year is white “trash.” I decided to change it up a little bit and make candy corn M&M Halloween “trash” after seeing the candy corn flavored M&Ms at the store.
This recipe is one of those than you can get done in under 15 minutes. It is also really kid friendly and the perfect thing to get your kids to help with in the kitchen.
What You’ll Need:
1 16oz bag of white chocolate chips
1 cup pretzel pieces {break pretzels into small pieces}
1 cup chopped cashews
1 cup candy corn M&Ms
Let’s Make It:
1) In a large mixing bowl, combine the pretzel pieces, cashews and M&Ms. Stir to combine.
2) In a medium bowl, add chocolate chips and microwave for 1 minute at 50% power. Stir well. If not smooth, microwave in 15 second intervals, at 50% power, until melted, stirring between each interval. Pour over pretzel mixture and stir well.
3) Spread mixture onto parchment lined baking sheet and let sit for 15 minutes or until hardened.
I filled little pumpkin cookie cutters with mine this time around so that we can add them to our “Boo Your Neighbor” bags. The kids had so much fun breaking up pretzels and tossing in M&Ms to this mixture.
What are your favorite Halloween treats? Have you tried all the new fall M&M flavors {Tip: you should really try the candy apple ones in my cookie bars}?
