Grab some fall apples and get to making this amazing Caramel Apple Bruschetta! It’s the perfect recipe for parties or snack time to serve during Autumn!
For the last two weeks, H has been going with friends to our local fall festival pretty frequently. It is almost time for it to close for the season so everyone has been taking advantage of the nice weather and visiting a few times before the end. Each time you go, you get an apple to bring home.
Three people attending = 3 apples per visit. So, I’ve accumulated a lot of apples and needed way to use them all before they went bad. I always love a good bruschetta so I decided to make Caramel Apple Bruschetta with our apples.
How to make bruschetta? Bruschetta as most people know is a savory recipe made with toasted french bread, typically topped with a tomato, garlic, basil, olive oil mixture. I decided to switch things up and make bruschetta into a dessert.
I made a sweet apple, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon mix and spooned it on top of a nicely toasted slice of french bread covered in pumpkin butter. To finish it off I drizzled caramel sauce for the perfect combination.
Basically this bruschetta is the ultimate fall dish! It would be perfect for a little sweet treat in the afternoon or wow party guests by putting out a platter of it. Either way, it is going to disappear because hello…caramel and apples!
If you’ve never made one before and you’re wondering how to make caramel apples, then I will tell you. Caramel apples are a classic treat you’ll find at any fair or carnival, they are also associated with Fall time since apple season runs in the Fall.
You can get all fancy when it comes to making a caramel apple with all the toppings you can add, but a traditional caramel apple is made by dipping an apple on a stick into a melted caramel mixture and leaving it to set.
This would also be so fun as a little make your own bruschetta station at a party! You could display bread slices, with a jar of pumpkin butter, apple mixture, and caramel sauce alongside. Then, allow your guests to assemble their own bruschetta.
You could even just use the apple mix as a delicious apple caramel dip. What are your favorite ways to use apples this time of year?
