One of my favorite things this time of year is getting the mail. Why? Christmas cards! We are so fortunate to have friends and family who take the time to send us a card each year. So, of course, we want to display them! This year, I decided to make a Christmas Card holder.
The supplies:
First up, paint the unfinished backless wood frame.

H loves snowglobes! It doesn’t really matter what it inside, she just loves to turn them upside down and watch the snow fall. So, I thought it would be fun to make a snowglobe {of sorts} with her. Ours would be waterless though!
Off to the store we went for our supplies. We picked up a large jar, a snowman ornament and some fake snow.

Then, we put our snow into the glass portion of the jar.
We actually ended up taking the snow back out and make it smaller because we felt like it was way too big for the size of our jar.
Now, screw the lid on the jar
And flip it over. Instant {waterless} snow globe.
H has so much fun turning him back and forth to watch the snow fall. Now, if only we could get {a little} snow of our own…

If you follow me on Facebook, you probably know that I got new toy recently…a Silhouette Cameo.
Isn’t it beautiful?!
Now, this was my first Silhouette so I was super excited to get it. {Not that past Silhouette owners probably weren’t excited too.} My first undertaking was some framed “art” to go above the table in my entry way. Currently, we have some art from Crate and Barrel that I love but, with its bright blues, yellows and greens, it doesn’t really blend with the Christmas decorations. So, I decided to replace it with something a little more seasonal.

I have talked before about the challenges of my mantle and fireplace. After managing to decorate the mantle in a way that I actually liked for fall, I was determined to step it up a notch for Christmas too. Of course, you can guess where I turned for ideas: Pinterest. In my search, I found this

I know, I know…you probably came here today with your grocery list in hand looking for recipes. I’m taking a brief hiatus from WTCW (one week). I’ve been prepping some guest posts and getting ready to co-host Crafty Scrappy Happy Me Thursday with my blogger friend, Jaime.
So, today, instead, I am bringing back a post from the past that I did for Emily over at Naptime is My Time. I did a guest post for her and shared how to make a paper Christmas tree decoration with scrapbook paper and Styrofoam.
