Do you love Girl Scout cookies? I definitely do. Being the “cookie mom” for our troop means I get to see the dates ahead of time and get my taste buds ready for all the delicious cookies. But, there is always a period after we’ve eaten all of ours that I want more. Raspberry Mint Lemonade for a Girl Scout Party

A few years ago, a friend of mine decided to start her own Girl Scout troop. All of the troops in our area were full and had long waitlists and she wanted her daughter to start out as a Daisy. We said yes and it was one of the best decisions. Our troop leader is AMAZING and does so much above and beyond what you expect from a troop leader. In addition to all the badge stuff, she also makes sure to include fun things like an end of the year pool party! I try to help whenever I can so I usually volunteer to bring food and drinks like raspberry mint lemonade.

Let’s take a small break from all the food and talk about inspiration a little. Inspiration comes from so many sources. There is the inspiration to create or cook and then there is the inspiration that comes from the positive influence of a loved one. Often, we take the time out to inspire those close to us during the BIG moments in life. But, I think what is most important is finding the time to send love and encouragement even during the everyday challenges life throws us. Maybe invite a friend {or friends} over for a glass of watermelon mint infused water and then use that opportunity to remind them how wonderful they are.

Watermelon Mojito

My daughter loves watermelon. I buy one each week and she eats almost all of it by herself. I certainly don’t mind because it so good for her and I will let her eat fresh fruit just about any time she wants. Now that she is back in gymnastics practice, we do end up with a little bit of watermelon leftover and I’ve been using it to make myself a watermelon mojito on the weekends.

The past few weeks have been the craziest of weather days. We had one weekend where the temperature was in the single digits and, with the wind blowing, it felt like below zero. We all know that we need to drink a lot of water each day. It varies by person but a good rule of thumb is 64 oz per day. That’s right…64! I track my water intake each day and I will admit that it is rarely the full 64 ounces. It makes especially difficult because I don’t love the taste of plain water. I figure there are a bunch of others just like me so I am sharing a few infused water ideas so we can all make our water goal each day.
