I always say that we are all blessed with two families: the one we are born into and the one we put together along the way. Mathlete and I are so fortunate to have some amazing friends that we truly think of as family. One of our favorite things to do is get together for dinner with them or to hang out whenever we can. Of course, with the busy holiday season, this gets harder than ever and getting the meal on the table becomes more of a challenge. Knowing how crazy the holiday season can get, I always like to stock on a few party friendly favorites so I have an easy option if an impromptu dinner chance comes along. For the past few months, I’ve been focusing on eating healthier and really paying attention to what goes in my mouth. Sure, I want to lose weight but I also just want to lead an overall healthier lifestyle. Unfortunately, my sweet tooth didn’t magically disappear when I started on this healthier eating venture. Each night, my daughter loves to have a little something sweet with me after dinner. Eating snacks together is our time to hang out and talk about our day. I like to make sure we choose options that are sweet AND healthy so that I am instilling good habits in her from a young age. My last trip to Walmart introduced me to a new snack that we have been enjoying this month: Edy’s Outshine Fruit Bars.

Chicken nuggets are a huge staple in my kids’ menu selections. I mean, they are 6 and 3 so chicken nuggets are their idea of “gourmet” food anyways. I don’t really mind because they are super easy and fast to prepare which makes meals on busy weeknights {or these days…busy weekends} so much easier.
I am always looking for ways to bring in new flavors or take their dinner beyond just a plate of nuggets to make dinner a little more interesting for them. Recently, Tyson introduced Cheesy Chicken Nuggets and I knew we had to try them. Combining cheese with a chicken nugget is like the ultimate thing for them. It would be like making a chicken nugget pizza…hmmm, there is an idea they would love too! In an effort to make these new chicken nuggets even more fun, I used them to create some cheesy chicken nugget kabobs.

First Impressions Last Forever #PureAirBlog
Remember my trip to learn all about Miele in New York? Well, prior to going, I had never even heard of Miele. That trip was my first impression of the brand and my first introduction to their products. Well, you know the saying “first impressions last forever?” Miele definitely goes above and beyond to make sure that first impression is completely positive. To describe the impression I got in one word: quality. The people were amazing and every product we were introduced to was nothing short of spectacular in the way it was engineered.
I’ve been home from that trip and living with my new Miele vacuum for just over a month now. Has my impression changed at all from that first one? Not one bit.

A Glimpse: Ninth Anniversary Celebration

So, the Mathlete and I have made it to the big 9! Yeah, I am sure there were some doubters out there but we showed them 😉 Today, is our official 9th wedding anniversary but we celebrated over the weekend with an overnight stay at The Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner. We were both excited to get away for a night even if it was only a few towns over. The location of the Ritz Carlton can’t be beat though because it put me right in the heart of Tysons Corner where I love to shop!
