It has been awhile since I updated you all on our basement progress. We’e been super busy though.
After the space was all framed, it was time to install the insulation. So, Mathlete suited up to protect himself during the installation.
There was already installation on all of the exterior walls (you can see as the white in the picture above) so we only had to put the installation into the ceiling and any interior walls that we wanted to. Originally, we had planned to just insulate the walls of the utility room and the ceiling over the theater area.
After listening to the animals kids in our house one day, we ended up insulating the ceiling everywhere and most of the walls to help soundproof the area a bit more.
Once the insulation was up, it was time to drywall! We went with three different types of drywall: regular drywall, QuietRock for extra soundproofing, and cement board in the bathroom behind the tile.
