Impress everyone at your next brunch with this Cheesy Sausage Crescent Ring. A crescent ring recipe that tastes amazing, only uses a few ingredients, and takes almost no time to make!
During spring and summer, we love to get together with friends for weekend brunch a lot. Heading outside during the nice morning weather for a meal together is one of our favorite ways to reconnect and just have some relaxation time in the midst of the hustle and bustle of shuttling kids to activities and taking ourselves back and forth to work.
I like to make my recipes for brunch easy so that I don’t spend a ton of time in the kitchen. A recent favorite, this Cheesy Sausage Crescent Ring!
Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t know anyone who can resist sausage and cheese when it comes to brunch. They are both delicious and even better when put together.
I created this as a crescent ring recipe so it would be easy to slice and give everyone an equal portion. Plus, it looks fantastic on the table too!
The secret to making this perfectly cheesy is VELVEETA®. It melts perfectly in the dish and tastes amazing with the sausage.
Plus, I find that I can place the VELVEETA in the dish exactly where I want it a little easier than shredded cheese, which I love because I know I will also be photographing the dish as well as eating it!
I made this cheesy sausage crescent ring and took it to my office recently so my “taste testers” could give me feedback. {My friends are great but they can be too nice sometimes about how my food tastes…haha.} It was a huge hit and gone in just a few minutes. I can’t wait to make it again for brunch at home.
If you can’t find VELVEETA in your store or would prefer to use a a different cheese, you can easily substitute it. My mom uses shredded sharp cheddar a lot and loves that combination.
I also like to change up the sausage sometimes. A regular pork breakfast sausage or a turkey sausage are both great options, especially if you don’t like spicy foods.

What you’ll need for this recipe:
- 1 lb hot breakfast sausage
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 4 oz VELVEETA® cut into small cubes
- 1 package crescent rolls
- Salt and pepper to taste
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with foil. Set aside.
-
Brown sausage in pan over medium heat; stirring to crumble. Stir in garlic powder and cream cheese. Mix until cream cheese is well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Lay crescent rolls out on prepared baking sheet to form a ring, with wider portion on the inside of the ring. {You will have a hole in the center}. Spoon sausage mixture around the ring. Top with VELVEETA cubes. Wrap narrow portion of crescent rolls towards the center of the ring and press on the inside.

Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until crescent rolls are lightly browned. Remove from oven and enjoy!

This looks amazing!!! I can’t wait to try it. My husband wants to know if we can add egg to it as well, and if so at which part of the process would you recommend adding it?
Shannah Coe says
You could definitely add egg to it. I would scramble them lightly with a fork and then add them in when you add the cream cheese. It will partially cook them and then they will cook the rest of the way in the oven.

No children, yet, but I can make this for MY lunch!!

Absolutely!

Waaay too much Velveeta. Seems like that’s all we tasted. And I’m not sure the garlic powder did anything for it either. Sorry. Wasn’t our favorite.
Shannah Coe says
I am sorry that you felt it had too much Velveeta. If you choose to make it again, the amount of cheese can easily be reduced. Thanks for the valueable input.

My husband and I really enjoyed this. The first time I made it was with pork sausage and it was delicious. That was a couple of years ago. Just made it this morning with chicken sausage since he no longer eats sausage and it is very delicious! Thank you for this easy and delicious recipe!
