I love cookies so I am so excited to share some awesome cookie news with you today. While this post is sponsored, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy National Cookie Day! I am excited to celebrate with some great cookie news and a recipe for these Double Chocolate Cherry Walnut Cookies!
Happy National Cookie Day! Did you know that existed?! Since we have national everything else day, it only makes sense that there would be a day dedicated to one of the best things on Earth: cookies!
Each year, we prepare treat baskets with different types of cookies and we deliver them to our local nursing home and other places so that people who might not traditionally get holiday goodies can enjoy them.
Our deliveries happen to fall on National Cookie Day this year so it made total sense to make sure they were filled with yummy cookies like Double Chocolate Cherry Walnut Cookies and the amazing new chocolate chip cookies from Otis Spunkmeyer.
The holiday season has been extra busy recently so I knew I wouldn’t have time to make as many cookies and baked goods I usually do for the treat baskets. But, I wanted to make sure the people who got our baskets still received delicious treats.
Otis Spunkmeyer, the pioneer of fresh baked cookies for nearly 40 years, is expanding their line in 2016 to include loaf cakes, snack cakes, muffins, cupcakes, cookie dough and, of course, cookies!
Their new line is committed to making sure the treats have no “funky stuff” like artificial colors/flavors or high fructose corn syrup. Their cookies seemed like the perfect addition to the baskets and, of course, chocolate chip is always a favorite.
I’ll be honest and say I ate several of these cookies while preparing our baskets. My son LOVED them too and kept asking for more. I will be the first in line to get them when they come out in 2016 for sure.
I think they went perfectly next to my double chocolate cherry walnut cookies too. A classic flavor paired with something a little new and different. I can’t wait until everyone tries the cookies!
These cookies, along with the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, make the perfect gifts and are the BEST way to celebrate National Cookie Day! Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks on how you can try all of the new Otis Spunkmeyer treats. I got a sneak peek of a few of them in Chicago and they are fabulous.
What is your favorite type of cookie? Are you excited to celebrate National Cookie Day today?
