We are in that time of year where it isn’t quite fully Spring {hello…snow predicted in two days!} but I still want to add little touches of Spring into our house to remind me what is near. Since this is really transitional decor, I want this to be cheap and easy decorating. And, it really doesn’t get much cheaper or easier than this!
I started with some clear glass vases that I already. I have about a million of them but, in case you don’t, you can usually find various sizes/shapes at the Dollar Store. Then, hit up your grocery store for some split peas.
My store had them in yellow, green, red and white for about $1.99/bag. I bought 2 bags of yellow and 2 bags of green. Those colors just matched best where I planned to display them. Ok, so cheap: check!
Time for easy: pour your split peas into your cases and add a white candle {again, something I just keep around all the time}.
I could only find two candles that weren’t in use so I just layered the split peas in one of the vases.
I had a full bag of split peas left so I guess I know what we’ll be having for dinner in the near future 🙂
Have you done any quick and easy decorating recently? Are you ready for Spring?

Ah, brilliant! These easy projects are totally my favorite! I actually didn’t know you could get yellow split peas (I guess I don’t spend enough time in the grocery store). These colors would look perfect in my living room; I better go pick some up!
