This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tazo® Tea for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Sometimes during the day, I like to take a quick break and make a cup of tea. Of course, with our busy schedule, I don’t get long breaks so I tend to enjoy my tea while on the move or as I am getting back to work. No cozying up on the couch with a warm mug of tea for me. I try to sneak in a little snack like crackers with homemade spiced fig jam along with my tea as well.
Some of my favorite teas are the Tazo® Teas in the Awake™ English Breakfast and Passion® varieties. The Awake English Breakfast tea is a perfect black tea with a bright flavor. The Passion tea, my all time favorite, has flavors of hibiscus, orange peel, rose hips and passion fruit.
I just discovered the Zen™ blend but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. All of these teas come in a hot filterbag style making them super easy to make any time you crave tea.
I’m a big snacker when I am enjoying my tea {or really all the time to be honest} and one of my favorite things to enjoy with it is crackers or cookies with fig jam. We brought back figs from our trip to California and I used it to make a delicious homemade spiced fig jam that tastes amazing with my Tazo teas.
Homemade Spiced Fig Jam Ingredients:
20-24 dried figs, stems removed
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 jalapeno
Let’s Make It:
1. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until liquid has thickened slightly. Turn off heat and cool for 10 minutes.
2. Remove jalapeno and then transfer fig mixture to food processor. Process until smooth. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
With the kid heading back to school, I think I will be give the teachers a little jar of spiced fig jam and some Tazo teas to enjoy during their day. It is the perfect way to welcome them back for the school year and something I know they can enjoy even while in the classroom.
