Birthday party #2 for August started just a few short hours {like 2!} from when the My Little Pony Sleepover ended. This one was a little easier because we were having it a local bounce house place. E is totally in love with dinosaurs so we went with a super fun dinosaur theme for his party.
Before we get too far into party details, let’s talk a minute about control freaks. I use that term affectionately because I KNOW I am totally a control freak which is why this party was so hard for me. Turning over almost all of the details to two people you don’t know and could really care less about making your son’s birthday special is tough. Obviously, this year’s party looks way different than our construction party from last year. I am so fortunate that E is pretty laid back and, honestly, wouldn’t notice if every detail wasn’t perfect the way I would. All he wanted to do was bounce! Oh, and the two people “in charge” let me take on a big part of decorating even if it was against the rules 🙂
The way the party goes is that everyone bounces for awhile and then you get whisked in for pizza and cake. We decorated the tables with super cute dinosaur plates, cups and napkins for when they arrived.
My favorite were these little dinosaurs on the table! They made great little decorations that were kid friendly but with a bonus: when you drop them in water, they grow!
The cake was amazing! I got it from the local grocery store versus our typical baker and they did a fantastic job. The volcano was a total hit.
After cake, we took a few pictures and sent everyone home with their little goodie bags filled with dinosaur related items like mini magnifying glasses, coloring books and dinosaur figurines. I was so in love with our little favor tags that Donna created!
Whew…now I get to relax and celebrate being birthday party free until next August!
