Mother’s Day is just over a week away. Every time Mathlete and I start to discuss plans for Mother’s Day, I am reminded of six years ago when I first became a mom. Talk about a complete shock?! Being a mom is crazy hard but also super rewarding. Growing up, I didn’t always have the greatest relationship with my mom because well…I’m female and was probably a super emotional brat back then. Thankfully, as I grew up, I really started to recognize how awesome my mom is and how hard she worked to make my life as amazing as she possibly could. I definitely credit her with so much of who I am today {well, all the good parts…she totally could have spared a little patience and passed it along though because I definitely lack that}.
I mean, don’t you wish you had these two for parents?! They take funny selfies in fast food restaurants.
Now that I am a mom to two crazy kids, I often wonder how on earth my mom handled it all. I mean, I am an only child but I am sure I was a handful. I love my kids so much but they definitely make life challenging, interesting and fun all at the same time! Before kids, Mathlete and I would go out to dinner whenever we wanted, take weekend trips and lots of other fun stuff without ever really having to think about it.
These two amazing little people changed all of that in the blink of an eye. Now our days are filled with snack bags, diapers, carpool and so many other things that, while sometimes may seem stressful, are truly blessings in life because they are a part of raising this incredible little people and seeing them grow each and every day. Bedtime may be a struggle some nights or we might have days where the kids are whiny and cranky and we just want a break. But, in the end, every moment is worth it because it is a memory.
I think this video definitely says it all about what it is like to be a mom {warning: grab your tissues!}. If you think they missed something in their job description, be sure to let them know.
Of course, having kids certainly makes me appreciate my mom even more than before! So, this Mother’s Day, since we can be together, I wanted to send her a special note to say thank you. Of course, those two adorable faces up there make it super hard to actually get to a card store and mail a card. That is where Cardstore totally saved the day for me this year!
I spend hours in front of a computer {HELLO…I am a blogger after all} and Cardstore allows you to create a card online and mail it directly to your mom from there. It was 4 simple steps and I was totally done. They have so many customization options that you can add photos to and personal messages so you can really make the card your own.
I was even able to schedule the delivery for my card so I know she will get it by Mother’s Day! They will print the address and return address right on the envelope and take care of all the pesky mailing details. No trips to the store and no worrying about the mailman picking up my card on time. Definitely a win all the way around. If you want to try making your own card for Mother’s Day {it totes makes everything super easy}, visit Cardstore and use the code CCF4249 to get $1 off the card of your choice. The coupon code expires on May 5th so be sure to do it now…you’re already on the computer reading this anyways, right?!
So, tell me how you are celebrating the mom in your life? How do you celebrate being a mom?
