We spent most of last year working on finishing our basement. Mathlete refers to it as his “man cave” since it is equipped with all the stuff most men love: leather recliners, a huge theater screen, a second tv and kick butt surround sound.
Now that his space is complete, I’m looking to create my own space; my #momcave.
We have a sitting room in our master bedroom that is currently unused {well, unless you count storing random stuff as being “used”}.
I think the space is perfect for my mom cave. With all the windows, it gives me a ton of light which is great since I don’t need the darkness for a better tv view.
I recently did a little online and in-person shopping to try and get inspired for decorating this space. I had seen a lot of commercials for La-Z-Boy furniture galleries and so I clicked over to check their website. The online catalog is full of awesome ideas for creating beautiful rooms.
I love the modern styling and options to personalize my choices so I took a trip to my local store to test out the piece that had caught my eye, the Eden sofa, in person.
The sofa I was interested in was right when I walked in the door of the gallery. It was gorgeous in person and so comfortable. I LOVED the addition of the chaise on the end for stretching out.
After trying out the sofa, I strolled over to check out all the fabric options! Holy cow, there were a ton! There are over 900 different options for fabric and/or leather.
My bedroom will be painted navy blue so I definitely wanted to brighten it up with some fun fabrics!
So many choices but I found a few that I really liked. The most fun part was using the store’s interactive design tool to picture my items in the fabrics I was considering.
While walking around the store, I also fell in love with the idea of these crates for the wall.
I could easily combine the sofa with these industrial type baskets. Then, add in a gorgeous wood and metal table and my little #momcave really starts to take shape.
Well, almost complete. I know I’ll end up doing a lot of computer stuff {ahem, blogging} so a little side table for the laptop would be perfect.
