For Easter, we usually go visit my in-laws and have Easter brunch in the dining room of their retirement community. Nobody cooks and there is no table to set. While it is nice to have zero work to do, I do miss getting my house and table all dressed up for the holiday. This year, we are actually going to have Easter at our house and I am super excited. But, Mathlete has put a major spending freeze on house stuff so I can’t run out and buy a bunch of new table decorations. So, I decided to make some instead and started with pom pom napkin rings.
These napkins rings cost me absolutely nothing because I already had the items in my house! I guess I can now justify my extensive yarn storage 😉 Seriously though, these are really easy to make with supplies that you most likely have on hand already or can easily find.
Start with either an empty toilet paper roll or paper towel roll. Then, cut out the little circles that will becomes your napkin rings.
Wrap the circles with yarn, twine, ribbon or whatever you choose. I used yarn for mine because I have so much of it hanging around. Secure the yarn with a spot of glue or hot glue.
Now, there are tons of tutorials out there on how to make pom poms with a fork. I suck at them. Seriously, they look horrible when I use a fork. So, awhile back, I invested in some pom pom makers {<–that is an affiliate link which means I get like $.01 if 100 people buy them} to make my life easier and my pom poms prettier.
Once your pom pom is done, simply hot glue it to the top of your ring and you are ready for your napkin!
Note: The white pom pom in the pictures is made with the medium maker and the yellow one is with the small.
Are you getting ready for Easter? Do you eat at home or go somewhere? How do you decorate for the holiday?

Thanks! I was surprised that I couldn’t tell it was cardboard either. I was so happy with how they turned out.

OMG I love them. I have twin 9 year old nieces that are going to spend a couple days here during their spring break and I always do crafts with them. I am so excited. I went to a discount store and bought plain white napkins that we will tie dye to match the rings. Thank you so much for the great ideas. pinned

Oh doing the napkins like such a fun project too. That will be a great craft to go along with these pom pom napkin rings. How fun!
