As I was making the Mexican bean salad for the shower the other day, I thought about how easy single servings would be for party guests to take things from the buffet back to the table. Chalkboard mason jar lids seemed like the perfect option to make this idea work.

It amazes me how far a little tiny bottle of chalkboard paint will go! I started painting the stems of my party wine glasses and ended up with a bunch of extra chalkboard paint. Our parties usually have at least one or two water/soda drinkers so I didn’t want them to feel left out. I picked up a few acrylic water glasses from target and decided to give them a chalkboard label too!
First, I marked off my section with painters’ tape.
Then, I just painted inside the rectangle with the chalkboard paint. I let it dry a little and then pulled off all the painters tape.
Quick and easy. Now, I guess we are ready for a party!
