Each year, around mid-October, our neighborhood explodes with Halloween. Entire blocks transform from regular houses into spooky haunted houses or fun places covered in pumpkins and candy corn. We like to get a jump on all of this fun by making a few Halloween recipes and then Boo’ing our neighbors.

Bake sales are my weakness. I love going to bake sales and seeing all the delicious things people have made. Being on the baking side of the bake sale though, definitely my weakness in a whole ‘nother way. So, I set out to create a bake sale worthy item that even a non-baker could throw together and make it a best seller. My quest led me to Pumpkin Iced Ginger Snaps.
These cookies use a store bought ginger snap base {because hey…we’re non-bakers here} but look just as homemade and delicious as any other treat made from scratch. Their store bought origins will be our secret.

Very few food items say fall like pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. Combine them all together and you have fall in a dish…or in this case on a cookie sheet. I make some pumpkin cream cheese frosting and used it to make pumpkin snickerdoodle sandwich cookies. So, grab some apple cider and let’s start enjoying these delicious cookies.

Fall is almost here. Like seriously…three days from now will be the official start of fall. Of course, if you are an avid blog reader like me, fall started back in early August. Today, as the last days of actual summer wane though, I invite you take one last trip with me to summer and enjoy this key lime pie dip recipe.
This dip came about as I was searching for things to serve at Mathlete’s birthday BBQ. He is a September baby and loves anything key lime. Not wanting to put in the effort for a key lime pie {sorry babe, I love you but pies just aren’t my thing}, I decided to create a dip that included all the favorite flavors of the beloved Key Lime pie.

Ok, the calendar officially says September which means we are heading into fall very soon! Hard to believe, right? We’re still experiencing 80+ degree days but I know those crisp fall days are coming. S’mores are one of those snacks that represent this transition from summer to fall so well. Typically they are roasted over an open flame which happen often when you haul out the fire pit {firewood} to cope with the cooler evenings that mark the end of summer. Sadly, I don’t have a place {yet} for a fire pit so I am stuck taking pity from neighbors finding other ways to get my s’mores in. After playing around with s’mores pizza, I decided to give s’mores in a jar a try.

Way back in the day {like before I knew what natural light for photography was}, I shared a family recipe that is always a hit: Chocolate Eclair Cake. It is one of those non-baker desserts that you literally cannot.mess.up but always pleases a crowd.
Check it out but ignore the awful pictures please {although a few of them are updated}! One problem we sometimes have with the cake is serving it so I decided to do the food version of “put a bird on it” and put it in a jar.

My name is Sara, but I also go by the name of “Mrs Major Hoff”. I’m Gina Kleinworth from Kleinworth & Co. I’m SUPER EXCITED to be here posting today at Shannah’s place & sharing one of our new favorite family recipes.
As we are in the final month of summer for most people (unless you live in the Southwest & you will be in the heat until November), so I thought I would come up with a tasty treat to share to give one last hurrah to the heat. I decided that some sorbet pops would be fun. I usually have a lot of watermelon in the house this time of year & most of the time when I have too much I make some Watermelon Lemon Sorbet. But you know- sometimes the kids are not wanting to sit down to a bowl of sorbet. This summer the big thing for them has been laying out a blanket in the back yard with their friends & enjoying some treats while they sit & chat & enjoy each other’s company. So pops definitely are more “lounge friendly” I suppose.
