Did you celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day at school this year? We did and there just aren’t enough ways to thank our teachers for all they do for our kiddos and our families. We try to find little ways to say thanks with little bouquets stealthily picked on the walk to school or a coffee card once in a while. So as the year winds to a close, I wanted to present a homemade gift that sends a fun message. Here’s my Teacher Appreciation Gift of a DIY Soy Candle. Stenciled Leather Coasters

Hey y’all! It’s Ginger from Gingerly Made again. I don’t know what it is, but we can’t seem to keep a set of coasters around my house! I think the kids play with them and then loose them. Usually you can only find 1 or maybe 2. So since they are prone to getting lost, I periodically need to get more. But I don’t want to spend a lot of money. So what do I do?… Hit the thrift stores. Thanks to a thrift store find and some craft supplies I already owned, I was able to make these stenciled leather coasters for $2.00!!

I was looking for some stone tile type coasters, but only found paper ones and these “Patriots Colony” tin and cork coasters. I liked the cork bottom and knew I could upcycle these into something much prettier, so even though it wasn’t what I was specifically looking for, I went with it.

Mother’s Day is just over a week away. Every time Mathlete and I start to discuss plans for Mother’s Day, I am reminded of six years ago when I first became a mom. Talk about a complete shock?! Being a mom is crazy hard but also super rewarding. Growing up, I didn’t always have the greatest relationship with my mom because well…I’m female and was probably a super emotional brat back then. Thankfully, as I grew up, I really started to recognize how awesome my mom is and how hard she worked to make my life as amazing as she possibly could. I definitely credit her with so much of who I am today {well, all the good parts…she totally could have spared a little patience and passed it along though because I definitely lack that}.
