Ok, so I finally did it. I took the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint plunge. Well, first, I went and bought the paint and then, true to form, I let it sit in my house for a month trying to decide what to paint first.
Even though it is just paint and easy to redo, I’m a baby so I started small with a mirror. It had this charming rustic look that just didn’t match what I wanted.
So, I taped off the inside part of the mirror and got to painting.
I did two coats of duck egg blue because it matched the fabric for my family room perfectly.
All done.
The mirror is way too small for the mantle in my family room but it lives there for now…a reminder that I need to get painting on some of my bigger projects.
Have you painted anything recently? Tried ASCP?

I love Annie Sloan! It’s definitely worth the money. I just did a frame this weekend using a wet distressing technique: http://reddoorfurnitureco.blogspot.com/2012/10/wet-distressing-with-annie-sloan-chalk.html

I haven’t spent the “big bucks” on ASCP yet, but I have made DIY chalk paint and I LOVE it. So I’m sure I’ll love ASCP.

I love the look and ease of chalk paint, but alas, I have yet to try it either! I’m thinking of going big and trying my entry way bench. I think I’ll be going the DIY route though…Your mirror looks gorgeous!

PS–You will dive into the quarts soon–there are 8 sample pots in one quart–quarts are a much better deal!

Looks real nice! I haven’t purchased Annie Sloan, but I made my very first batch of homemade chalk paint and painted a small cabinet. I love the results! Visiting from Bear Rabbit Bear link party….

I got the chair home and started deconstructing it so I could begin the furniture upcycle process {you know…paint, fabric, etc.}. I started by removing the fabric from the back so I could get to the seat cushion.
