There’s a food revolution here in the DC area. Read that right because I don’t want you going along thinking I’m about to talk about Jamie Oliver and post pictures of him and stuff…hold on:

There is one for eye candy purposes. This blog is about a different, less attractive but still yummy, food revolution: food trucks! Food trucks are taking over DC slowly and I love it. For the summer months, there is even an event dedicated to food trucks that takes place each month: Truckeroo.

Truckeroo is a monthly festival that showcases the area’s food trucks. It is awesome because it gives you access to most of the food trucks around here in one place. And, to make it even better, it is held just about a mile from my office!
We headed over for lunch today to see what they had to offer. My first choice, the lobster truck, had a line so long that I wasn’t about to consider it. So, we moved on. We finally settled on Tasty Kebob (even though the spelling drives me crazy!).
I got the chicken and rice meal which was huge! It came with delicious chunks of bright red chicken over rice. On the side was a salad and some spinach. Here it is half eaten because I forgot to snap a picture of it when I got it (sorry, tummy was growling).
After gorging on my lunch, I headed over to the one of the many sweets places to grab a dessert. I chose the nearest one (cause I’m lazy) and ordered a salted caramel cupcake. I split it with my friend but seriously could have eaten like 6…yeah, that’s why I’m a fatty mcfats.
Right after we pulled that beauty out of the bag, we were asked to be interviewed for a local college’s production on food trucks. So, it was a little delayed gratification but worth the wait. Look for us on AU tv…superstar!
