I am so excited to partner with Empire Today Stores to do some updates to our home. While this post is sponsored, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love spending time in my kitchen. After all, I must because I named my blog after it. Lol. While I love spending time in my home, and especially my kitchen, there are definitely a few things I would change. A major update that is needed here is flooring! The guy who built our house was a single guy who {no offense to single guys} just didn’t have much design talent. So, we are working on updating the kitchen and beyond over the course of the next year.
Here are of some of the things that bug us about the flooring in the house:
- The hardwood in the kitchen is exactly the same color as the kitchen cabinets.
- The hardwood flooring does not extend into the dining room and formal living room.
- The hardwood is a narrow plank and just not a color we love.
- The carpet that is installed in the house is very basic and has started to show major wear in the six years we have lived here.
When we finished our basement, we worked with Empire Today and had such a great experience. So, when I heard they were opening an Empire Today Store nearby, I knew they would be my first stop for looking at flooring. We met with David I think knows just about everything there is to know about any type of flooring! It was great talking to him and learning about which items he recommended for the different parts of our house. We had already had them measure the house so our floor plan was already in the system for us.
We spent some time talking to David and then making selections on the different types of flooring we envisioned in the house. We know we want a mix of carpet and hardwood floors so we started with the hardwood options.
For carpet, we want something that has a little bit of mixed colors because it tends to show dirt less. With two young children and {hopefully soon} a dog, we want something that will definitely show less dirt than our current floors.
The great thing about Empire Today Stores is that they make it so easy to stay within your budget. All of the pricing shown on the flooring includes installation of the new flooring and removal of the old carpet. If you have different types of flooring that need to removed, they can do that too but there is typically a small surcharge. David made it so easy by working up several different quotes for us so we could see what the best options for us would be.
We haven’t made any final decisions yet (stay tuned for that!) but here are some of the items we are looking at.
Be sure to tell me what you think in the comments!
