Let’s take a small break from all the food and talk about inspiration a little. Inspiration comes from so many sources. There is the inspiration to create or cook and then there is the inspiration that comes from the positive influence of a loved one. Often, we take the time out to inspire those close to us during the BIG moments in life. But, I think what is most important is finding the time to send love and encouragement even during the everyday challenges life throws us. Maybe invite a friend {or friends} over for a glass of watermelon mint infused water and then use that opportunity to remind them how wonderful they are.
Unfortunately, not all of our loved ones live close enough for us to enjoy face to face quality time. General Mills Nature Valley® is working with Facebook to help with this issue by inviting people to send messages of support and encouragement. You can create a personal video message or a short word of encouragement to the person in your life who needs it most and letting them know to #BeGreatOutThere. I’ll be working on sending out messages to those that inspire me most including some of these amazing women I am blessed to have in my circle.
These women are truly amazing and the definition of inspiring. Through their words of encouragement and support, I’ve followed my dream of starting a food blog. I don’t tell them nearly enough what they mean to me so I love this campaign because it reminds everyone to give encouragement and support to the people in their lives. I can’t wait to have them over for some girl time including refreshing watermelon mint water and snacks.
Ingredients for Watermelon Mint Infused Water:
1/2 cup watermelon cubes
1/4 cup mint leaves
24 ounces water
Ice
Let’s Make It:
Lightly crush mint leaves in your hand to release the oils. Add to pitcher. Add water and watermelon cubes. Let sit for 15 minutes. Serve over ice.
In addition to sharing words of encouragement through videos or messages through the Nature Valley® Facebook partnership, you could also consider sending a small care package, featuring delicious Nature Valley snacks and a handwritten note including what your Facebook video/message said to far away friends and family.
Be sure to visit the Facebook page or connect with them on Instagram and Twitter to learn more about how you can pay it forward with an inspiring video or text message. Whatever way you choose to make a difference in someone’s life, be sure you make the small effort to tell them to #BeGreatOutThere!
